Braille Document and Tactile Graphic Training for Beginners

This training hands-on training is for anyone who is new to braille document and tactile graphic production. The sessions will include how to set up your computer and software, working with Microsoft Word and the Duxbury Braille Translator, drawing skills for tactile graphics, and the step-by-step process for creating braille documents and tactile graphics.

Learning Objectives:
• Attendees will develop the knowledge and skills to create accurate, well-formatted braille documents.
• Attendees will develop the foundational knowledge and skill to begin creating tactile graphics.

NOTE: This is a hands-on training and each attendee must have a Windows-based PC, Microsoft Word, the Duxbury Braille Translator installed on their computer. Attendees are expected to participate in each activity and complete an assignment after each session.

Important Session Information:


Handouts, as well as a Zoom link to the training, will be sent out to all registered participants before the start of the broadcast. Instructions on how to connect will be included.

During the Zoom webinar be sure to sign in with the first, last name, and email address of all your registered viewers. Participants calling in via phone will need to send in a SIGN-IN SHEET. Once you are marked attended, you will receive an email notification to take our online evaluation.

A session code will be given to you at the end of the training. You will need to provide this code when you take our survey in order to obtain CEU credit.
