TSBVI Coffee Hour: Sensory Needs of Students with Visual Impairments and Optic Nerve Hypoplasia
Hosted via Zoom on March 27, 2023

Children with visual impairments often experience sensory motor and behavioral challenges that can affect their ability to make progress in the general and special education setting. By providing children with meaningful and intentional sensory motor activities throughout the day, children with visual and multiple impairments gain the ability to self-organize their sensory systems in order to participate in activities with their peers and make progress in their individualized education plans. Join us to discuss how to identify students with challenges in sensorimotor development and provide strategies for intervention including the use of sensory motor activities and routines to be implemented in a variety of settings.

Captioning will be provided, if you need anything else, please email Kaycee Bennett. Some logistics will be different with our Coffee Hours, as compared to the past, but you can expect the same commitment to providing information, discussion, and collaboration on topics important to students who are blind, visually impaired, or Deafblind.
