Discovering the Future: Transition from School to Adult Life for Students with Visual and Multiple Disabilities, Including Those Who are Deafblind
Hosted at Austin Marriott North, Round Rock, Texas March 6-8, 2026

About the Workshop: Do you have a child in middle school or high school who will need long-term services and support in the community, and for whom traditional paths to college and career may not seem like the best fit? If so, we have a weekend training for you.

This training will help families of students with visual and multiple disabilities and complex access needs, including those who are deafblind.

Together, we will:
• Explore new ideas for planning life after high school.
• Learn how to start a person-centered transition plan.
• Share resources and experiences with other families.

This event will be hands-on and interactive. Families will imagine what a successful adult life could look like for their child and learn how to find and ask for the tools and resources needed to get there.

Registration: $50.00 per Person

Who Can Attend? Adult family members of students who will need life-long support. Professionals may also attend if they work with a participating student or are interested in transition planning. Space is limited. You may register now and pay later.

Schedule:
• Friday, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Family Reception at the hotel with dinner provided. Meet the presenters and other families.
• Saturday, 8:30 AM–4:30 PM – Workshop sessions, lunch included.
• Sunday, 8:30 AM–12:00 PM – Workshop sessions, box lunch included.

If these options don’t apply to your family, TSBVI Outreach may also have limited support available. In case of a delay in working with your child’s agency, please reach out to Jesus Curi at curij@tsbvi.edu.

Hotel:
A block of rooms with a discounted rate has been set aside for participants to book at the Austin Marriott North at 2600 La Frontera Blvd, Round Rock, TX 78681. A reservation link will be included in your confirmation email, upon registration.
