Visual Arts and the Expanded Core Curriculum: Coloring and Drawing in Activities of Early Elementary
Live Webinar: February 13th, 2017

Art is highly integrated into learning strategies in general education, beginning with the simple drawing and coloring exercises of early elementary and progressing through advanced studio classes in secondary school. All too often, students with visual impairments are excluded or discouraged from participation in these activities under the mistaken assumption that such undertakings would be of little benefit or interest for them. This webinar will provide information on how to make learning in the visual arts accessible and meaningful. Drawing and coloring are integrated into so many activities in early elementary classrooms, enhancing and reinforcing learning in content areas. This session will provide methods and materials for ensuring the student with visual impairments has access to these valuable tools.
