Listening is a skill that uses the sense of hearing. Listening skills for students who are blind or visually impaired are essential for developing all areas of the Expanded Core Curriculum, and, as such, must be taught with systematic instruction. Ann Adkins, Educational Consultant for TSBVI Outreach Programs identifies elements of listening skills and provides resources for evaluation and instruction.

Important Session Information:

Please be advised that in order to receive continuing education credit (ACVREP or SBEC) you must submit a Delayed Viewing Request which is available on the TSBVI website. You must register for each event prior to submitting the Delayed Viewing Request in order to obtain continuing education credit. Once we receive your request you will be emailed a link to the evaluation site and a code to use in this evaluation process. By completing the evaluation and supplying this code you will be able to download a certificate. Simply log into your account and go to “Registration History/Certificate” look under “Online Sessions” and the click on the certificate link under this session title.

After completing registration, go to REGISTRATION HISTORY/CERTIFICATES, click on ONLINE SESSIONS, and then click on the OPEN button to the right.
