Inclusion for Students with Visual Impairment in Physical Education: Precautions and General Accommodations - October 2019

Kristine Seljenes is a physical education teacher at Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired. In this webinar, she shares information about specific types of visual impairment and how these may impact student participation as well as any attendant safety issues. In addition, Ms. Seljenes provides an overview of techniques and strategies that are most effective for teaching physical education activities for children with visual impairments.

Learning Objectives:
• Participants will learn how a variety of visual impairments may impact instruction in physical education.
• Participants will learn precautions for physical education that may be present for specific visual impairments.
• Participants will learn techniques that are effective for teaching physical education to students with visual impairment.
