Session Detail

TSBVI Coffee Hour: Helen St Clair Tracy/Dr Andrew Blaikie CVI Scotland
Hosted via Zoom on December 3rd, 2020

Dr Andrew Blaikie will explain how the typical vision system develops and works, then Helen St Clair Tracy will present an overview of the different cerebral visual impairments, and what needs to be known about each individual affected, to ensure support is optimal. Both will explain some of the ways they are working together towards creating simulations of the different cerebral visual impairments, particularly those that come under the umbrella of dorsal stream dysfunction, affecting many children with CVI. The talk will include some short videos from the ongoing partnership between CVI Scotland and the University of St Andrews.

Captioning will be provided, if you need anything else, please email Kaycee Bennett. Some logistics will be different with our Coffee Hours, as compared to the past, but you can expect the same commitment to providing information, discussion, and collaboration on topics important to students who are blind, visually impaired, or Deafblind.
