TSBVI Coffee Hour: CVI Scotland - Optimizing Support for Children with CVI Part 3
Hosted via Zoom on May 16, 2022

NOTE: The start time has been changed from 3PM to 9AM Central Time.

Professor Gordon Dutton from CVI Scotland is returning to TSBVI, to present the third in their series 'Optimizing Support for Children with CVI'. Part 3 will start with a short explanation of CVI Scotland's new and free 4-Step CVI Support Plan, covering a wide range of needs and issues, and suitable for all with CVI. It is called Pick & Mix. The remaining time of the session will be a 'Question Time' where Professor Dutton will seek to address a set of key questions posed by the CVI community. CVI Scotland's Parent Founder Helen St Clair Tracy will be co-presenting.

The key questions are:
Why does CVI make reading difficult and how can I make it easier for my child/student? I have a baby and have been told they have CVI. What should I do? Are interventions different when the individual with CVI is older? Do children with Autism have CVI? Why do some call this visual impairment Cortical and some call it Cerebral? Is there a difference? No preparation is necessary for this talk, and it is suitable for all with an interest in CVI, including teachers and other professionals, parents and careers and people with CVI.

Some logistics will be different with our Coffee Hours, as compared to the past, but you can expect the same commitment to providing information, discussion, and collaboration on topics important to students who are blind, visually impaired, or Deafblind.
