Braille Boot Camp is a four-day, hands-on, experiential training focused on
developing the knowledge and skills needed to produce braille documents
and tactile graphics for students with blindness and visual impairments.
Training will cover both literary and mathematic subject areas.
There is also a session on cleaning and repair of the Perkins Braille Writer
led by Sue Fowler. We suggest you bring a braille writer to be cleaned for
this session but if you don't have one or are flying we can supply one.
Sue O'Brien and other TSBVI staff will lead participants through both small
group and individual activities. Each attendee will leave with a folder of
documents and tactile graphics they created during Boot Camp.
