Learning and Literacy Media Decisions for Students with Low Vision
The Learning/Literacy Media Assessment (LMA) is a critical document in a student’s educational program. This conference will focus on using LMA data to determine and implement the use of MultiMedia (e.g., print, braille, audio) for a student with low vision who may or may not use print. These decisions affect students’ performance in home, school, and community. The focus will be on applying LMA data, rather than instructions
on how to write the LMA. The conference is open to professionals in the field of visual impairment and families.

Participants will:
1. Identify essential components of the LMA.
2. Provide examples of collaborating with the educational team and implementing.
recommendations from the LMA into a student’s academic program.
3. Describe factors that influenced adults who are multi-media users in selecting
media use for a range of tasks.
