Creating Accessible Documents: An Introduction

It’s easy to create documents that are visually appealing and accessible using the styling and formatting tools built into Microsoft Word or other word processors. TSBVI Accessibility Coordinator, Jim Allan shows you how to add the essential structure to make a Word document accessible; one that can be read and searched with a screen reader, such as JAWS, converted into braille or a PDF, or posted to the web in html format.

Important Session Information:

Please be advised that in order to receive continuing education credit ( ACVREP or SBEC) you must submit a Delayed Viewing Request which is available on the TSBVI website. You must register for each event prior to submitting the Delayed Viewing Request in order to obtain continuing education credit. Once we receive your request you will be emailed a link to the evaluation site and a code to use in this evaluation process. By completing the evaluation and supplying this code you will be able to download a certificate. Simply log into your account and go to “Registration History/Certificate” look under “Online Sessions” and the click on the certificate link under this session title.

After completing registration, go to REGISTRATION HISTORY/CERTIFICATES, click on ONLINE SESSIONS, and then click on the OPEN button to the right.
