Anchor Center for Blind Children, a non-profit organization that supports families with young children with visual impairment from birth to six in Denver, Colorado, and several local Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)s are collaborating to identify visual function concerns of pre-term infants using a validated visual screening tool called The Neonatal Assessment Visual European Grid (NAVEG).
Infants identified to be at risk with the NAVEG are referred for follow-up to ophthalmological care and local early intervention vision services. We will share about the NAVEG research and our training successes.
Captioning will be provided, if you need anything else, please email Kaycee Bennett. Some logistics will be different with our Coffee Hours, as compared to the past, but you can expect the same commitment to providing information, discussion, and collaboration on topics important to students who are blind, visually impaired, or Deafblind.
