In our present culture, there is often resistance to orientation and mobility specialists (OMS) traveling off campus with students for lessons, as well as concerns the OMS may have due to this resistance. We will take a look at advocating for, planning, and conducting off campus lessons. This will include reviewing resources that justify the need for community lessons and tools for getting everyone on the same page (families, administrators, transportation, etc.). Join the conversation to share, introduce questions, and learn together.
Captioning will be provided, if you need anything else, please email Kaycee Bennett. Some logistics will be different with our Coffee Hours, as compared to the past, but you can expect the same commitment to providing information, discussion, and collaboration on topics important to students who are blind, visually impaired, or Deafblind.
